The Back-to-Back Bookings feature allows you to prevent members from creating bookings that don’t have any time between the end of one and the start of the other. This covers scenarios in which meeting rooms need to be prepared for a given booking or need to be serviced after a booking ends.
Setting up Back-to-Back Bookings
The feature is built into the Booking Policies. Here’s what the Booking Policy dialog looks like now:
To allow for preventing bookings that do not have a time slot between each other you need to check the “Disallow back-to-back bookings” and define the minimum amount of time that will be reserved before a booking to which the policy applies. The reserved slot will appear on the calendar as shown below:
The system also adds a second reserved slot after the booking. That slot designates the minimum amount of time the new booking must be separated from the existing ones and will overlap with the reserved slot before a booking. This is demonstrated with the screenshot below:
Admins will be able to override the booking policy back-to-back settings when creating a booking from the admin portal. If a booking does not have a preparation slot by default, the Admin creating the booking will see the “Reserve a Preparation Timeslot” link which, when clicked will prepopulate the booking’s preparation slot with the default value for preparation slots. The following two screenshots demonstrate the behavior:
If a booking has a reserved preparation time slot and admin can change its duration or remove it:
Members will not be able to override the preparation time policy when making bookings. They will be able to see the preparation slots for existing bookings and the minimum separation slots for the current booking being made.
