The multi-currency functionality allows you to issue invoices in different currencies, each of which has a separate exchange rate that is entered into the system.
How to set up Multi-currency
In order to enable the functionality you can go to Settings->Billing.
Here you'll see that there's a checkbox called "Enable multi-currency mode". Once you've enabled it this section of the settings will expand you'll be able to add different currencies with the appropriate exchange rate.
Note: The exchange rates are not dynamic but have to be entered manually every time a change is required.
How to set a customer's preferred currency
With the multi-currency function you can also choose what sort of currency a specified customer is going to billed in by default. This can be very useful, if you have a diverse array of clients that need to be billed in different currencies.
In order to set a currency for a customer you can go to their profile and then click Edit.
In the newly opened window you'll see that there's a Billing Details tab, where you'll be able to see a drop-down for all the currently enabled currencies, you can choose one of these to be used by default for this customer.
By doing this, every subsequent invoice for this customer will be issued in the chosen invoice.
How to generate an invoice with a different currency
Once the multi-currency settings are entered you can go to a member/company's profile and click Add invoice, please note that there's now a new drop-down menu called Currency.
From here you'll be able to select the currency of the invoice that's going to be issued.
Note: The currency of an existing invoice cannot be changed once it's been created.
When you're editing the invoice and you've selected a currency that is different from the main one you'll see that the system is adding some text that tells you the conversion rate and how the amount has been converted into the number that you're currently seeing into the user interface.
Accounting integrations and multi-currency
Both of the accounting integrations in OfficeRND currently support multi-currency.
Note: Both integrations need to have enabled multi-currency before you enable it in OfficeRnD, otherwise you won't be able to sync any documents until you make the changes in the respective integration.
Payment gateways and multi-currency
Not all payment gateway integrations support multi-currency, please view our list of currently available integrations to see which of them support this functionality.
