Add a Floorplan

The OfficeRnD Hybrid interactive floorplans enable you to represent your office space in a nice and meaningful way. They are based on your original floorplans with a few interactive layers on top of them.

Once your floorplan is properly uploaded and configured, you will be able to click and select desks, offices and other resources and interact with them:

  • Set availability;
  • Assign employees and teams;
  • Restrict access;
  • Set capacity limitations, and more.

Upload Floorplans

Follow these steps to import your floorplans:

  1. Export your floorplans to a PDF or an image format (PNG or JPG).
  2. Send them to support@officernd.com and let us know which file corresponds to which location and floor. 

Or manually upload and configure the floorplans following these steps:

Manually Upload a Floorplan

  • Make sure your floorplan is exported in an image file (PNG or JPG format).
  • Navigate to Space/Locations.
  • At the upper right, click Add location, if the location of your floorplan doesn't exist. 
  • At the upper right, click Add floor.
  • Select its Location.
  • Set its Name, Floor, under Area set its size.
  • Click Upload and select the image file representing the floorplan.
  • Set the Is Open check-box depending on the current state of the floor. You can keep this option de-selected while you configure the floorplan and only mark the floor open when it's ready for business. 
  • Click Add

Once uploaded, your floorplan will be the background of your interactive OfficeRnD Hybrid floor.

Draw an Interactive Layer

  • Click the floor you added to open it.
  • From the top menu, click Design.

Measure Your Floorplan

  • If your floorplan has measures on it, you can click on a point where the measure starts and then click the point where it ends. Then add the real length of the measurement on the floorplan in the small box at the bottom of the screen.
  • If there are no measures on the floorplan, you can measure a desk, a door, or something else on it, which length you know. For example, a standard door is about 90cm or 3ft. 
  • If you need to change the measurement units of your space from sq.m (EU/metrics) to sq.ft (US/imperial) or vice versa, please follow this tutorial. 

Start Drawing

At the top of the screen, you will find a few menues and all the available drawing modes at your disposal:

  1. Start with the walls. In order to draw walls, you need to enter the Wall mode, available at the top menu bar. 
  2. Then add the doors from the right-hand side menu. You can rotate or reposition doors as per your needs.
  3. Next, add zones to represent your meeting rooms, provate offices, kitchesn and more. 
  4. The last step is to add resources.
  5. Once ready, you can click Finish Design to review the final look of the floor.

Floorplan Menu

You can use the Floorplan menu to:

  • Upload - upload a new image of the floorplan to replace the current one.
  • Rotate - rotate the already sketched floorplan.
  • Remove background - use this option if you uploaded the wrong floorplan or just want to remove the current background.
  • Rescale background - rescale the background image of your uploaded floorplan. Selecting this option, you will be able to draw a line on the floorplan and it will show you the equivalent length of that line in real life. On the bottom, you will see a box where you can change the current lenght of the selected section.
  • Rescale everything - rescale not only the background image but the scaled floorplan, and everything else you see on the screen. 
  • Move background - this option enables you to move the background anywhere on the screen.

Layers Menu

In this menu, you can choose which layer you want to view on the screen without changing the actual floorplan. You can choose between the following layers:

  • Floorplan
  • Walls
  • Zones
  • Labels
  • Resources
