[Branded App] Activate and Use Avigilon Alta Mobile Access

Updated over a month ago

Avigilon Alta Mobile Access allows members to open doors with their mobile device using a button on the home screen of their organization's Branded App. Learn more about branded (white-label) apps.

This feature is exclusive to customers using a Branded App and is not available on the standard OfficeRnD Members app.

Activate or turn off the feature in the Branded App

To activate Avigilon Alta Mobile Access, we must update your organization's Branded App (our development team will take care of that).

Please note the following:

  1. If you are a new customer requesting a Branded App, you must specify in your request that you want Avigilon Alta Mobile Access activated.

  2. If you are an existing customer with your Branded App deployed, you must submit a support ticket to request an update of the app with Avigilon Alta Mobile Access activated. This can take up to 2 weeks.

  3. To turn off Avigilon Alta Mobile Access, you must submit a ticket and request that the module be removed from your Branded App.

Connect the Avigilon Alta integration

Before using Avigilon Alta Mobile Access in your Branded App, connect the Avigilon Alta integration in the Flex Admin Portal.

How it works

Once your organization's Branded App is updated with the Avigilon Alta Mobile Access module, all members logged in to the app will see a small key button in the bottom right corner of the home screen.

Please keep in mind the following:

  • The Key Button is available only on the Home screen of the Branded App.

  • The Key Button is available only to users who have an access group assigned in OfficeRnD.

When a member taps the key button for the first time, the following will happen:

  1. The device will validate the user's access rights and download an access key.

  2. The app will start searching for a nearby lock.

  3. Members might need to tap on the lock with the device so it can communicate with the lock.

Feedback

When using the Mobile Access feature, there are two types of feedback provided to the user of the Branded App:

  1. From the device. Please note that your device might show different notifications for features such as authentication and searching for locks.

  2. From the lock. The light indicator and sound alert from the physical lock are the most reliable feedback form.

    • When the door cannot be unlocked – red light and sound alert. This happens when the user does not have access rights.

    • When the door is successfully unlocked – green light and sound alert.
