Membership Promo Codes help you offer time-limited discounted rates for new members without adding manual work to your workflows. You can set a promotional period, define a percentage discount, and have the system automatically move the member to the standard rate when the promotion ends. This is useful when you run campaigns that require a clear, predictable onboarding process, such as “first 3 months free” or seasonal offers.

This help article explains how Membership Promo Codes work, how the automated membership transition behaves, and how the per-email redemption limit protects your space from misuse. You will learn how to configure the promo period, set the discount, and control how many times each customer can redeem the code.

What you can achieve

With Membership Promo Codes, you can:

  • Offer a time-limited discounted membership rate, such as 50% off for 3 months or 100% off for the first month.

  • Automate the transition from a promotional membership to a standard membership without manual updates.

  • Remove deposits and setup fees during the promotional period while keeping the same coins, credits, or Day Passes.

  • Set a redemption limit per email to prevent customers from reusing the same promo code.

Create a membership promo code

To create a new membership promo code:

  1. Go to Growth Hub > Marketing > Promo Codes.

  2. Click Create Membership Code.

  3. Enter the code that customers must type at checkout to apply the discount. This cannot be changed later.

  4. Describe what the promo code will be used for. This description is for internal use only. Use 100 characters or fewer to ensure better visibility.

  5. Select the locations where the promo code can be used. To make it available in all locations, leave the field empty.

  6. Select one or more recurring plans to which you want the promo code to apply. Membership promo codes apply only to recurring monthly plans. The code will also apply to all new plans of the selected product type(s).

  7. Select the promotion period. The promotion period starts on the purchase date; after that, you will charge customers for the full price.

  8. Enter the discount percentage.

  9. Set a usage limit for the code. Leave the field empty to allow the code to be used unlimited times. You can set a limit per customer or a limit to the total number of times the code can be used by anyone.

  10. Define the code's active period by setting a start date and an expiration date. The promo code will be active and visible on your website during this period.

  11. Review the promo code settings in the Summary section.

  12. Click Create.

How it works on your storefront

When your customers purchase a membership from your Growth Hub storefront, they can enter the promo code at checkout. They must expand the "I have a promo code" section, enter the code, and click Apply. The discount will automatically apply to their membership.
