[Workplace] Assign Team Leads to Allow Bookings on Behalf of Another Employee

Let managers and personal assistants book resources for their team members from the Web Portal.

Written by Krasto Milchev

By default, employees without access to the Workplace Admin Portal can't book resources for others. Assigning someone as a Team Lead in their team profile allows them to make bookings on behalf of any member of that team directly from the Web Portal. This is useful for managers or personal assistants who handle bookings for their reports.

Assign an employee as a Team Lead

To give an employee the ability to book on behalf of their team:

  1. Open the Workplace Admin Portal, go to People > Teams, and open the team profile.

  2. In the Employees section, find the employee and open the dropdown in the Team Function column. By default, it is set to 'Member'.

  3. Select 'Team Lead'. The employee can now book resources for anyone on that team through the Web Portal.

Note: If an employee is part of multiple teams, open each team profile separately and assign the Team Lead role there. This gives them booking permissions for each team individually. Add employees to multiple teams →

How Team Lead bookings work

When a Team Lead books a resource on behalf of a team member, the booking is assigned to that team member, not the Team Lead. Both the Team Lead and the team member can edit the booking. Bookings made this way appear under the Account hub in the Web Portal.
