[Integration] TWIINData
Updated over a month ago

OfficeRnD’s integration with TWIINData enables Flex space operators to integrate OfficeRnD with the WiFi network managed by TWIINData, an industry-leading internet bandwidth management product trusted in over 500 locations in the UK and Europe. The integration is developed and supported by our partners from TWIINData.

Benefits

  • Flexible and coworking office operators worldwide can enhance their revenue streams by delivering secure and reliable WiFi and internet services to all their clients.

  • Operators can upsell and assign dedicated bandwidth products to members directly from OfficeRnD, creating a quick and easy additional revenue stream.

  • Operators can effortlessly set up new WiFi accounts, create and revoke user access, and adjust bandwidth with just a few clicks. There is no need for costly and time-consuming engineering resources.

  • Meet clients' changing bandwidth needs—Instantly upgrade and downgrade dedicated bandwidth as clients' needs change. Upgrades to internet bandwidth happen in real-time, with no manual intervention.

  • Control your internet access security – user access can be revoked seamlessly, maintaining security.

How to activate the integration

  • Go to Settings > Data & Extensibility > Developer Tools and click Add Application.

  • In the Add Application dialogue, fill out the fields as follows and click Add:

  • Click View to access the application's ID and secret key.

  • Copy the Client ID and the Client Secret.

  • Log into the Twiindata portal. You should see a yellow banner saying no token is stored for OfficeRnD. Click the link in the banner.

  • Paste the Client Id and Client Secret from the OfficeRnD portal into the form:

  • Find the Organisation Slug in your OfficeRnD URL and paste it into the form:

  • Click Login.

  • Go back to the OfficeRnD portal to set up a custom field in order to store the WiFi password. Go to Settings > Data & Extensibility > Custom Properties and click Add Property.

  • Fill out the fields as follows and click Add. It is important to enter the unique identifier exactly as “wifipassword”:

  • Go to Settings > Data & Extensibility > Developer Tools, open Webhooks, and click Add Endpoint:

  • In the Endpoint URL field, enter: https://data.twiin.tech/api/officernd/update.
In the Description field, enter 'twiindata'.
Open Events to Send and choose the following 10 events:

    • company.created

    • company.updated

    • company.removed

    • member.created

    • member.updated

    • member.removed

    • membership.created

    • membership.updated

    • membership.removed

    • pass.updated

  • Once the webhook is created, click it and scroll down to Signing Secret. Click to reveal it:

  • Copy the contents of this box and email it to your Twiindata account manager to set up in Twiindata. Once this step has been completed, the process of mapping amenities in OfficeRnD to bandwidth provision in Twiindata can commence.

  • Our team will be happy to assist you with this; however, if you wish to do it yourself, then select Import Bandwidth Groups from the OfficeRnD menu on Twiindata:

  • Twiindata will then show a list of amenities from OfficeRnD.

    • Amenities already associated with bandwidth groups on Twiindata are listed as ‘(synced).’ To set up new associations, tick the box in the ‘Import’ column and fill in the desired values for ‘Pool’, ‘Guaranteed’, and ‘Cap’ speeds in the same way you normally would when defining a twin data bandwidth group. Once the table is complete, click Add Selected Products.

Pre-patched sites

If you have a pre-patched site, the next stage is to set up the association between desks, offices, and Twiindata port groups.

This is done through the Import Port Groups menu in Twiindata:

  • If you want to import all rooms/desks, ensure all checkboxes are checked in the import column and click Add Selected Desks.

  • Once this is complete, the normal Twiindata port group editor should be used to assign switch ports to the newly imported groups.

  • Once this is finished, please contact the Twiiindata support team, who will check over the setup. If all is working, we will enable syncing, and clients will be synced from OfficeRnD to Twiiindata automatically.
