One feature of a premium branded app is multi-vendor mobile access, which is made possible with door access integration. You can use it to provide your members with a seamless, unified door access experience. OfficeRnD Flex integrates with the industry's most popular access control systems, including SaltoKS, KISI, Brivo, Openpath, and HID. However, not all integrations are compatible with each other.

Limitations

Even though OfficeRnD Flex supports multi-vendor access control integrations, not all integrations are mutually compatible.

Activate or deactivate the feature in the Branded App

Enabling multi-vendor mobile access happens through an update of your organization's branded app, which our development team will carry out. Please mind the following:

  1. New Customers who are about to request a Branded App must specify which supported mobile access modules they want in the app.

  2. Existing Customers who already have their Branded App deployed should submit a support ticket to request an update with the mobile access modules of their choice. This can take up to 2 weeks.

  3. To disable Multi-vendor Mobile Access, customers must submit a ticket requesting to remove the specified door access module from their Branded App.

How It Works

Please turn on your device's Bluetooth and Location features to use the app.

For iOS devices in particular, ensure you grant the necessary permissions: Go to Settings > Apps > [Your Workspace App], enable Bluetooth, and set Location access to "While Using the App" or "Always" with Precise Location enabled. Reopen the app after making these changes.

Once the organization's branded app is updated with the requested mobile access modules, all logged-in members can see a key button in the bottom right corner of the screen. The following conditions are in place, however:

  • The Key Button is available only on the Home Screen.

  • The Key Button is available only to users who have an access group assigned in OfficeRnD.

  • An active and properly assigned membership is required to make the Key Button visible in the app.

Tapping the Key Button for the first time will trigger the vendor's respective authentication method:

  • SaltoKS would initiate a quick authentication.

  • Brivo would re-issue a Mobile Pass.

  • KISI would create a Managed User in KISI.

Once the authentication process is complete, the app will download the digital key for the respective integration and attempt to locate a nearby lock. Depending on the lock model and vendor, members may need to tap their device on the lock to enable communication.

Feedback

When using the Mobile Access feature, there are two types of feedback provided to the user:

1. From the device

Your device may display different notifications for features such as authentication and searching for locks. Their exact content depends on the door access provider.

2. From the lock

The light indicator and sound alert from the physical lock are the most reliable forms of feedback.

  • When the door cannot be unlocked, a red light and sound alert will appear. This occurs when the user does not have the necessary access rights.

  • When the door is unlocked successfully, a green light and sound alert appear.

Troubleshoot missing mobile key

Membership assignments

  • Verify that the member has an active membership and ensure it is correctly assigned to them.

  • Reassign the membership or create an additional one if necessary.

Device settings and permissions

  • Ensure device permissions are correctly enabled, especially on iOS devices.

  • Check Bluetooth is active and Location is set to precise, with proper app access permissions configured.

Access control system integrations

  • Confirm that the member's plan in OfficeRnD links to an eligible access group or resource in the integrated system (e.g., Brivo).

  • Update assignments as needed to ensure accurate mapping between OfficeRnD and the access control system. By reviewing these areas, most issues with the mobile key's visibility can be resolved. For further assistance, please consult your administrator or refer to the relevant support documentation.
