Access Control Integrations With Multiple Vendors

Introduction

OfficeRnD Flex's Access Control integration flexibility has been extended with the ability to:

  • Connect two or more different Access Control integrations from the same vendor to separate locations.
  • Connect two or more different Access Control integrations from different vendors to separate locations.

Customers can enjoy benefits such as reduced costs, on-site vendor support, and the ability to choose the best solution for each particular space (including locations across different countries and cities).

Adding Locations to Access Control Integrations

When adding an Access Control integration, Admins have to select a location before the activation and configuration steps. This setting determines the location(s) where the integration applies.

Here's how the location setting looks for SaltoKS:

Membership Policies for Access Control Integrations

  • The integration should grant access based on the mapping only to the member assigned to the membership.
  • If no member is assigned to membership, the integration should grant access to all members from the respective company.

Example Use Cases with SaltoKS

Use Case

Behavior

Member holds membership for Location A and books a Room for Location B. * working for 2 different door access integrations and for one door access integration using two different locations/accounts.

1. The member should be able to access the meeting room in Location B based on the mapping.

2. The integration should add the member as a user in the SaltoKS account connected to Location B.

Member holds two or more memberships for different locations.

* working for 2 different door access integrations and for one door access integration using two different locations/accounts.

Members should be able to access all locations they hold memberships for (based on the mapping of each SaltoKS account connected to OfficeRnD).
All members of Location A should have access to the common areas of all other locations.

* working for 2 different door access integrations and for one door access integration using two different locations/accounts.

This scenario can be managed with multiple SaltoKS accounts.
Member holds membership with a plan that grants access to all locations. * working for 2 different door access integrations and for one door access integration using two different locations/accounts. In this case, each SaltoKS account connected to OfficeRnD should allow plans configured for all locations to be mapped within.
Company rents offices in two or more different locations. * working for 2 different door access integrations and for one door access integration using two different locations/accounts.

There may be two options for this:

1. Company members should have access to the offices in all locations.

2. Company members should have access only to the office they are working in.

Company holds multiple memberships of different types for different locations. Examples:
  • One office in Location A.
  • Two Dedicated Desks in Location A and one Dedicated Desk in Location B.
  • Two Hotdesks in Location A and 2 Hotdesks in Location B.
* working for 2 different door access integrations and for one door access integration using two different locations/accounts.

If there are multiple memberships added to the same company profile, the following rules to grant access apply:

1. For memberships assigned to a specific member, access is granted only to that member based on the mapping in the integration settings.

2. For memberships that are not assigned to a specific member, access is granted to all company members based on the mapping in the integration settings.
