OfficeRnD Flex interactive floor plans enable you to represent your office space conveniently and meaningfully. They are based on your original floor plans with a few interactive layers added on top.
Once your floor plan is properly uploaded and configured, you will be able to click and select desks, offices, and other resources to interact with them:
Set target/list prices;
Assign members, teams, and memberships;
Manage availability and more.
Upload floor plans
Follow these steps to import your floor plans:
Export your floor plans in PDF or image format (PNG or JPG format).
Send them to [email protected] and let us know which file corresponds to which location and floor. Please be aware that completion usually takes between 3-10 business days for such requests.
Or manually upload and configure the floor plans following these steps:
Manually upload a floor plan
Ensure your floor plan is exported in an image file (PNG or JPG format).
Go to Space > Locations.
At the upper right, click Add location, if the location of your floorplan doesn't exist.
At the upper right, click Add Floor.
Select its Location.
Set its Name, Floor, under Area, set its size, and under Target, set the targeted revenue for the resources on the floor.
Click Upload and select the image file representing the floor plan.
Set the Is Open checkbox to the current state of the floor. You can keep this option de-selected while configuring the floor plan and only mark the floor open when it's ready for business.
Click Add.
Once uploaded, your floor plan will be the background of your interactive OfficeRnD Flex floor.
Draw an Interactive Layer
Once you close the Floor dialog, you can click on the floor plan and open the OfficeR&D Designer. To start sketching out the floor plan, click the Design button with the paintbrush icon in the upper right. The next step is to Measure the floor plan. This will put your floor plan in perspective.
If your floor plan has measures on it, you can click on a point where the measure starts and a second click where it ends. Then, add the real length of the measurement on the floor plan in the small box at the bottom of the screen.
If it doesn't have measures, you can either measure a desk, a door, or something that you know how long it is. For example, a standard desk could be 120cm.
If you must change the measurement units of your space from sq.m (EU/metrics) to sq.ft (US/imperial) or vice versa, check out this article.
After you're done with the measures, you can start drawing.
Start with the Walls. To draw walls, you must use the Wall tool, 3rd on the top.
Then add the Doors. You may have to rotate or reposition the door.
Next is to draw the Zones - Meeting Rooms, Private Offices, Kitchens, etc. Draw the zones by using the Zone tool (4th on top). Click on the wall points, and when you're ready, click Enter.
The last step is to add the desks. Before you add them, please ensure the toolbox's desk shape is the right size.
Once ready, you can click Finish Design and go to Manage mode.
Floor plan options menu:
Upload - using this option, you can upload a new image of the floor plan.
Rotate - this will help you rotate the already sketched floor plan.
Remove background - if you uploaded the wrong floor plan or want to remove the current background, you can click this button.
Rescale background: This option rescales the background image only. Clicking it will change your cursor and allow you to create a line on the floor plan. Then, it will show you the equivalent length of that line in real life. At the bottom, you will see a box where you can change that.
Rescale everything - this option will also rescale the background image and the scaled floor plan.
Move background - this option lets you move the background anywhere on the screen.
Layers menu:
In this menu, you can choose which layer to exclude or include without changing the floor plan. You can choose between the following layers:
Floor plan
Walls
Zones
Labels
Resources
Understanding this information is always a good idea, so check our article with a visual representation of how to edit floor plans (Basics).
Once you're done with the Design, you can add the Resources and Inventory.
