Effective resource management in OfficeRnD's floor plans is crucial for optimizing workspace utilization. However, common mistakes can hinder this process. This article highlights these errors and offers practical solutions for seamless resource management.

Misinterpreting floor plan zones as actual resources

Scenario: You might assume that the zones created on your floor plans by the Onboarding team represent the actual resources you have, such as Meeting Rooms and office spaces.

Solution: Please remember that the initial floor plan displays are merely visual representations; think of them as "drawings". You must create or import your actual resources and then map them onto the floor plan. This ensures accurate management of spaces like Meeting Rooms and Private Offices.

Inability to map custom resources to created zones

Scenario: You have difficulties mapping a custom resource to a zone you have created.

Solution: Ensure that the resource type is configured correctly. Additionally, verify that both the space type and the unique key for the resource type are properly set up. This alignment is essential for successful mapping.

Deleting an existing floor plan to build a new one from scratch

Scenario: You might want to build a new floor plan and consider deleting the existing one.

Solution: Before deleting the current floor plan, unmap all resources. Failure to do so will result in their permanent deletion. By unmapping the resources, you preserve them for future use.
