Every time a visitor checks in using the Visitor App, the visitor host is notified via one or more channels depending on the notification configuration (Learn how to test Visitor App notifications →). However, you can also turn on visitor notifications for other employees.
Before you start
How do check-in notifications work
Check-in notifications provide customizable options to ensure relevant team members are alerted:
Customizable notification recipients: Assign specific members or employees to be notified at the flow level.
Multi-person support: Notify multiple individuals for each check-in flow.
Host option flexibility: Decide whether to notify only the host or include additional people. When both are selected, notifications are sent to all relevant parties.
How to benefit from the check-in notifications
To ensure effective visitor management, assign notifications to the right team members. Below are scenarios where these notifications can be beneficial:
Use cases for Flex admins
Planned tours or walk-ins: Notify the tour guide responsible for leading the tour.
Maintenance vendors: Notify the facility manager or the team handling maintenance needs.

Interview candidates: Notify the HR team to prepare for scheduled interviews
Contractors: Notify the assigned manager or HR team responsible for the contractor.
