Before you start
You will need an account at Avigilon Alta. If you don't have one yet, go to avigilon.com/access-control/cloud.
Connect the integration
- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- In the All Integrations section, click Access Control, find "Avigilon Alta," and click Add.
- Enter your Avigilon Alta credentials and choose the locations to which the integration will apply. Then, click Add.
- Find Avigilon Alta in the Active Integrations section and click Finish Setup.
- Select your Avigilon Alta organization and click Save.
- Click Configure to open the Configure Avigilon Alta dialog.
Map billing plans
In the Plans tab, you can map a billing plan in OfficeRnD to a security group in Avigilon Alta. Learn how to create billing plans →
By creating this mapping, you instruct OfficeRnD to grant someone access to the specified security groups whenever any of the selected membership plans are assigned to them. In the screenshot below, for example, if Joe is assigned the "Office desk" membership, he will receive access to "Plan Group 02" in Avigilon Alta.
Access will be automatically granted or revoked based on a membership's start or end dates. Billing plan mappings are commonly used with "Hot Desk" plans to provide members access to a shared area where those desks are located. However, smaller spaces also utilize these mappings for "Dedicated Desk" plans.
- If no member is assigned to the membership, access will be granted to the whole team.
- Members will only be added to Avigilon Alta once their membership is active. They will not appear in Avigilon Alta or receive an invitation until then.
Map locations
In the Locations tab, you can map locations in OfficeRnD to security groups in Avigilon Alta. Learn how to create locations in your organization →
Location mappings work like floor mappings. Whenever you assign a membership to a desk in a mapped location, the member will get access to the security groups mapped.
Example: Let's say London is a location mapped to the "General building access group." If we assign Joe's membership to a desk on any floor in London, we will grant Joe access to the "General building access group" in Avigilon Alta.
Map floors
In the Floors tab, you can map floors in OfficeRnD to security groups in Avigilon Alta. Learn how to create floors in your organization →
You will grant access to all mapped groups whenever you assign a membership to a desk on a certain floor.
Example: Let's say "Floor 1" in the "London" location is mapped to "Floor Group 1" in Avigilon Alta. If we assign Joe's membership to a desk on "Floor 1" in "London," we will grant Joe access to "Floor Group 1" in Avigilon Alta.
Map assignable resources
In the Assignable Resources tab, you can map assignable resources in OfficeRnD (such as dedicated desks) to security groups in Avigilon Alta. If your company has a membership assigned to the resource, the member will have access to that resource in that security group.
If you assign a private office to a company or a dedicated desk to a member via membership, they will be added to the access group mapped to that membership.
Map bookable resources
In the Bookable Resources tab, you can map Bookable resources in OfficeRnD (such as meeting rooms) to security groups in Avigilon Alta. Whenever someone creates a booking for a mapped meeting room, they will be granted the respective access.
Example: John books the Blue meeting room via the OfficeRnD Member Portal (or an admin creates a booking on behalf of John via the Admin portal). When the booking time approaches, John is granted access to the security groups mapped to that room. When the booking is over, John's access is revoked.
Map Day Passes
In the Day Passes tab, you can configure the access rights of users with Day Passes. Every member or team with Day Passes will get access to the security groups mapped in this tab. Access is revoked when all Day Passes are used or when their validity ends.
Important considerations
- The integration automatically manages member check-ins.
- OfficeRnD does not delete member accounts in Avigilon Alta. We only revoke access once a membership ends or members no longer have Day Passes.
- The integration synchronizes automatically every 15 minutes.
Providing access to people outside the organization
Sometimes, you want to provide access to people outside the organization, such as cleaners or VIP guests. If you add these people to some of the groups managed by OfficeRnD, they will be removed immediately (as described above).
That's why we recommend creating a new group (without a prefix) that grants the appropriate permissions and adds the person. Access won't be revoked as this group will not be included in the configuration of the integration in OfficeRnD.
Important: OfficeRnD does not delete any accounts in Avigilon Alta. We revoke their access once their membership ends or they no longer have any Day Passes left, but the account is not removed in Avigilon Alta.
