[Flex] Door Access Integrations: Use Cases and Solutions

This article addresses common use cases for door access setups and provides solutions to ensure seamless integration with OfficeRnD.

Updated today

Integrating your door access system with OfficeRnD enhances security and member experience. However, certain common mistakes can hinder this integration. This article addresses these pitfalls and offers solutions to help you avoid them.

Creating only one access group

Scenario: You have set up a single access group in your door access system, but you require different groups and settings for various areas or member types.

Solution: Review the access groups linked to your Billing Plans, locations, and floors. If the same group is applied universally, consider whether this meets your needs. To ensure appropriate access control, distinct access groups tailored to specific areas or member categories must be created.

Preparing door access fobs for new occupants

Scenario: A company is scheduled to occupy an office space in a week, and you must set up their door access fobs in advance.

Solution: Assign the company to the appropriate access group corresponding to their office location and membership type. Ensure their access starts on the agreed date.

Apple Wallet interference with mobile keys on iOS devices

Scenario: iOS users of the branded app with mobile keys experience the Apple Wallet opening when attempting to unlock a door.

Solution: This issue arises because the iPhone's NFC reader can trigger the Apple Wallet when near a door reader. To mitigate this:

  • Advise members to open the OfficeRnD app and select the key icon before approaching the door reader.

  • Ensure the app is updated to the latest version, as updates may address this issue.

  • Consider adjusting iPhone settings to prevent the Apple Wallet from opening automatically.
