How to Add Closed Days?
Globally
Admins can add Closed Days on a global level by navigating to Settings/Platform Modules/Business Hours and clicking on the Add Closed Day button. The following options are available in the dialog:
- Title - Enter a description of up to 255 characters.
- From & To fields - Select the starting and ending dates and times of the closed days period.
- Locations - Select which locations will be closed on the selected dates.
-
Repeats - Select whether the closed day will recur anually.
Note: Repeating Closed Days will repeat every year until the Closed Day is removed or its repeatability turned off.
Per-location
Closed Days can be added from the Add/Edit Location modal in Space/Locations. Additionally, admins can see the currently applied Closed Days for each location. Simply open a location and click on the Closed Days tab.
Note that Closed Days will be added globally. For per-location settings, you'll need to choose which closed days apply for each location. To do this:
1. Navigate to Settings/Platform Modules/Business Hours.
2. Head to the Closed Days section and click on a Closed Day.
3. Use the Locations drop-down menu to select locations for the Closed Day.
Note: When making a booking, the resource availability will depend on the Closed Days applied for the resource’s location.
Edit & Remove Closed Days
Simply click on the cogwheel and select the Edit or Delete option from the menu.
How to Block Bookings on Closed Days?
To block bookings during the closed days, admins need to enable the Restrict outside business hours bookings options. If the option is disabled, the Closed Days settings won’t affect any bookings.
-
Active Members - when selected, this option will disable active members from booking outside business hours, workdays, and on closed days. The restrictions are applied when booking through the members portal and mobile apps.
Business hours apply exclusively to time-based resource bookings (Booking Mode = Time), while closed days and workdays affect all reservations (including resources with Booking Mode = Date). -
Non Active Members - when selected, this option will disable non-active members from booking outside business hours, workdays, and on closed days. The restriction applies across the public calendar, members portal, and mobile apps.
Business hours apply exclusively to time-based resource bookings (Booking Mode = Time), while closed days and workdays affect all reservations (including resources with Booking Mode = Date).
- Admins can always make bookings via the admin portal, no matter what the Restrict outside business hours options are.
Booking on a Closed Day
- For time-based resources, you can use the available time and book on a Closed Day before or after the Closed Day time period. E.g. if the Closed Day period starts on Dec 23rd at 13:30, then the resources will be available for booking until 13:30 on that day.
- When booking a date-based resource, however, you cannot book any of the Closed Days even if the Closed Day period starts/ends mid-day.
- If there are already existing bookings during the Closed Days, they won’t be changed or affected by the newly added Closed Days, unless the admins manually edit them.
When customers or admins make a booking on a Closed Day, the system will use the resource’s weekend rates - hour-weekend, half-day-weekend, day-weekend. If such are not defined, the user will see the following message:
Example:
Note: Admins can make bookings no matter what business hours or closed days are defined.
Note: Bookings coming from Google Calendar don't respect Closed Days restrictions.
Resource Availability
For bookings which occur once
Members won't be able to book a resource during a closed day which is for all locations.
Members won't be able to book a resource in a location which is included in a closed day.
Members will be able to book a resource in a location which is excluded from a closed day.
For reoccuring bookings
A booking should not be created when its occurrence is during a closed day.
There should be no resource availability restriction in the Admin Portal when a booking is made during a closed day.
